ATELIERS POLIGNAC In Polignac
Their location? In the shadow of the mighty Fortress de Polignac, amid the old village of Bilhac. Their vocations? Quite numerous.
Animating meetings, courses, introductions to all artistic disciplines for the surrounding schools and youth associations. Offering artists residencies to create « mutually inspired » performances. Stimulating entrepreneurs and their imagination to organise seminars, presentations of products, stays and meeting days with the artists. Favouring all types of workshops, exchanges, stays destined to art. And principally encouraging, like they did during the 2007-2008 season, the development of artistic projects dedicated to children: theatre, music, dance, clown, humoristic and puppet performances…
Due to their refined renovation, the XVIIth and XVIIIth century buildings composed of cellars, forges, attics, stables, barns… constitute today an ideal place of work, life, exchange and creation.
« I have indeed always wished for them to be a place witnessing artistic exchange and creation on top of being a scene for performances. » says the Princess.
On location: a charming interior pebble stone courtyard, a stone wall sitting room with large chimney, study rooms, exhibition rooms, rooms, small dormitories and perfectly equipped theatre.
Concerning the 2008-2009 season, the Ateliers Polignac have looked through the abounding world of creation destined to young people and thus, offer a high quality program. Their declared ambition is to become, in the next coming years, a place of national standard for « the Art and the Youth ». For Princess de Polignac, it is certain that individuals have to be more than ever and from the youngest age, placed at the centre of social projects in order to reinvent new ways of living together.
